Dear Me: A Letter to My Younger Self

Dear Me ~

Wow… you’ve set some big hairy audacious goals for yourself.

But that’s what I love about you… that you’re not afraid to envision a bold future, a breath-taking destination. It requires you to expect the best out of yourself and strive for greatness within.

These bigger-than-life dreams will take everything you’ve got, you know? Focus, discipline, grace, determination, patience, energy, balance, hard work, belief, and yes… even a cosmic wink or two, to make them come true.

You intentionally set them high… daring yourself to go after them.

But are you more in love with the idea of your goal rather than the accomplishment of it?

Are you afraid that once you reach that place of achievement that the journey wasn’t what you thought it would be?

Are you afraid that you don’t have what it takes to make it come true? Do you not believe you are worthy of accomplishment?

O Dear One… how will you ever know if you don’t travel?

Your whole life has been preparing you for this moment. Every experience, every straight road, every curve, every ray of sunshine, and every storm has led you up to this point.

You have been blessed with gifts and abilities beyond measure, and your faith in what you know… that you know… that you truly know… will be your guide.

Your purpose is clear and the view from the end of this road is amazing!

Where the journey seems long and the miles seem daunting, your adventure begins with the decision to believe in yourself.

You must believe that you are worthy of this quest.

You must know that your work in this world can only be done by you.

You are strong. You are powerful. You are brave.

You are enough… more than enough.

You are skilled and you have prepared for such a time as this.

Lean in and feel the weight of your worthiness.

Trust your gut. Trust your instincts. Trust yourself.

Listen to your inner rumble and feel its power reverberating within you.

As you know, the road will not be an easy one and at times you’ll take a wrong turn, get lost, and end up somewhere you never imagined you’d be.

Enjoy the scenery, learn something from that detour but be singular focused as to not lose sight of where you’re going.

Know that the way will become clearer as you travel.

There have been others who have made this trek before you. Listen to them. Learn from them. Follow the maps they have given you.

But don’t be afraid to blaze your own trail. Be a pioneer! Leave a path for others to follow for it is in you to inspire them.

Be willing to pay the price to achieve your dreams. Choose courage over comfort for courage always wins out in the end.

Never forget whose you are and let His love fuel you.

O Dear One… make shift happen - in your life and the lives of others. This is your journey and one you’re destined to make!

Love,

Your Future Self
